Where it all began
Tufty & Téamh are the protagonists of two independent picture books produced by the talented first year art students of Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, a post-primary school based in Limerick city.
These books are a result of a NAPD supported Creative Engagement project, which facilitates a local artist or designer coming into the classroom to share their expertise with students and create artwork together.
Art Teacher Fionnuala Ní Choigligh invited local Graphic Designer Michael O’Connor to collaborate with first year students at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh. Together with student teacher Fiona Burke, LSAD they embarked on an exciting journey to design and create two children’s books for 5–10 year olds.
A big round of applause to the art students on their fantastic work to bring this beautiful book to fruition. Both individually and as a team they have produced something truly special. They have embodied the spirit of Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh — ag forbairt le chéile.
